Assertiveness and Self Esteem Training

The Student Advice Unit introduces a new training scheme for University of Bristol students.

Do you often find that you give in easily to demands and have a difficulty recognising your own resources and positive traits? Many people fall into the ‘yes' category. Many of us struggle with assertiveness and self-esteem issues and this is why the Student Advice Centre is running a 6 week Self-Esteem and Assertiveness Training each term. The training is designed to help people achieve a positive, stronger sense of self and recognise and respect their own boundaries.

The training will offer opportunities to raise your self-esteem and thus enable you to feel better about yourself. You will be encouraged to look at ways in which you can become more assertive and how to challenge your negative and self-critical thinking patterns. The aim is for participants to develop a better and more respectful relationship with themselves.

We will meet weekly for 6 weeks and the sessions are 2 hours long. If you are interested in joining the training programme or just want to find out a bit more about it, you can contact the project co-ordinator, on 0117 3313521.
