JazzFunkSoul is an active society based upon a love of live music, and is a great way to meet likeminded people to jam and see bands with. Every other Monday at the Epi is JazzFunkSoul, and features either an open-to-all jam session or a great live band.
The jam sessions are informal, relaxed and welcome players of all standards. Don’t let your instrument gather dust while you’re at university, bring it down and join in. Last year saw The Spokinn Movement fly in from New York and this year we have already had the fantastic Robert Mitchell 3io.
JazzFunkSoul is a good way to meet other musicians, and many bands have been formed through the society. These bands get plenty of requests for gigs at functions and events through JFS, which acts as a connection for organisers to contact. For only £3 JFS is great value.
