The Archaeology and Anthropology Society holds its meetings in the Lecture Theatre, 43 Woodland Road (Archaeology & Anthropology Department), most Thursdays during term time at 5.30pm. These evenings commence with a lecture of about an hour from a guest speaker, which is followed by the consumption of considerable quantities of free booze and nibbles. Once the free booze runs dry, everyone transfers to the Highbury Vaults pub around the corner, when the night continues until the landlord turns off the lights and carries us onto the pavement.
We also organise a few other social events - pub-crawls, film nights, a Stonehenge access visit and we make our own stylish T-shirts. The highlight of the year must be the ArchAnthSoc Christmas Quiz, when we all drink even more than usual and selected members of the committee embarrass themselves
