Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I'm your Vice-President: Activities for 2011/12. Here at Bristol, there are over 180 societies and four media outlets, all of which you can join online at any time... and if you don't see something you like, why not create your own!
Check out the Activities section of this site for more details. Alternatively, if you like that warm feeling inside when you know you've done something really good, why not get involved in one of our many volunteering projects or raise money for RAG (Raising and Giving). Getting involved with your Union is fun, a great way to make friends, and looks great on your CV!
At Bristol I studied French and Politics, and I was Programme Controller of Burst Radio for my final year. It's my job now to make sure each and every one of you gets the support you need in your extra-curricular activities, be it in a society, as a budding journalist or as part of a volunteering or fund-raising project. I will also represent all these groups at a University level, to make sure your voices are being heard.
If you have a question, big or small, just pop me an email to the address below. You can also find me in the 'Do It!' Hub on the 4th floor of the Union. My blog will cover lots of topics relating to student activity, and will hopefully give you an insight into the weird and wonderful workings of UBU.
