Wednesday Workshops
Following on from sketching speed dating on Wednesdays when we don't have life drawing we will be having workshops exploring different ideas/techniques etc. We already have a few ideas but would love to hear form you if you have any suggestions for things you'd like to do, if you have ideas or requests for life drawing send them as well. This could be new materials you'd like to use, or a theme you'd like to explore. We will also be thinking about the theme for our end of year exhibition so if you have any suggestions for this send them (the final decision will be made by Yola, the Exhibitions officer and the committee).
Thursday Life Drawing
I will probably only be doing one more 'Introduction to life drawing' class on Thursday afternoon (depending on demand, e-mail me if you still want to attend, they are aimed at people who have not done any life drawing before) so I am now thinking of what to do on Thursday's after. It will probably involve some kind of life drawing, perhaps with more of a theme or long poses, possibly with the same model for consecutive weeks, to allow people to paint form life. This will be in addition to the main Wednesday sessions which will carry on as they are.
One idea to keep costs low would be for people to form a temporary group (which will last for a few weeks, perhaps half a term) of people from the society where one member from the group models each week (or two people model for an hour each) while the others draw. So each person models for one week and draws on the other weeks, rather than paying a model (which would leave us with more money for materials etc.). If you would be interested in joining such a group meeting on Thursday evening and would be happy to model one week in return for extra life drawing on the other weeks please contact me on ralph.thompson@bristol.ac.uk so I can gauge interest.

Student Restaurant (Foodcycle) on Wednesday Evening
On Wednesday evening the student restaurant is having it's first event in the Union, an excellent opportunity for a social following on from Life Drawing. The student restaurant uses unwanted food from supermarkets etc. to create a three-course vegan meal which is available to use for just £3 each. Cheap, tasty, ethical, convenient and social... what more could you want? The meal will start at 7:30, stay and have a drink in the bar after the second life drawing session or go away and come back for it later. Clothes Swap Committee Positions Available
The Clothes Swap are looking for new people for their committee, anyone can apply and they've asked me to bring it to the attention of our members. The name is quite explanatory - they organise events to swap clothes to promte reuse rather than waste, sharing rather than selfish individualism, and having a wider variety of clothes to wear... all in all a very good thing. So have a look here for more information and details of how to apply: http://www.ubu.org.uk/news/article/6154/30/
