Representation

The University of Bristol Students' Union is responsible for the representation of all students at Bristol.

We aim to represent you across the board - from individual academic issues to advising the University about long-term student experience issues. Topics regularly covered by Union representatives include academic studies, welfare, community cohesion, accommodation, finance and personal safety.

UBU works to ensure that all students have their voices heard through two schemes of elected representatives: the Student Representative system and the Union Council.

Student Reps

The Student Representative system runs within each year group in every department at the University at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. These representatives feed student opinion of their course back to the department and help enact changes and developments within the course.

Union Council

The Union Council is made up of six full-time officers and twenty part-time officers. This team covers a wide variety of areas from liberation groups (BME, LGBT, Disabled Students) to key campaign priorities such as the environment and widening participation.
