Candidate for the position of Delegate to NUS Conference
Demanding a fighting NUS committed to the abolition of tuition fees
It sometimes feels as though the NUS has given in to the rhetoric that tuition fees are a necessity. This is quite simply not true. Politics is a matter of priorities, and education should be THE top priority.
To give young people the choice between leaving university £53,000 in debt or being left without the qualifications to find a job in times of record high youth unemployment is to give young people no choice at all.
The NUS should not be fighting for lower tuition fees. They should not be fighting for a graduate tax. The NUS should be fighting for free higher education for undergraduates and affordable post-grad opportunities.
