Candidate for the position of Undergraduate Senate Rep - Social Sciences & Law

JASPER LOONG

Strength through Change; Change through Jasper

In my earnest desire to meaningfully contribute to the student body, I am running for senate as I am the most suitable candidate for I am:

 Committed, Passionate and Experienced.

Having held key leadership appointments in recent years, I was most recently elected as Student Representative(School of EFM) and actively lobbied for a 24/7 ASS library.

During national service, I was appointed as section leader in the commando regiment of the Singapore Armed Forces. I’m also the MD of a company I founded in 2008, leading a team of 26 staff. These responsibilities equipped me with problem-solving, teamwork, and project planning – skills I can leverage on to serve as an effective senate representative.

If elected, I will do my utmost to pursue matters which are important to you, such as:

-Pressing for greater individual coursework feedback

-Improving access to learning resources

-Easing library congestion

-Protecting and increasing University's spending on students

-Improve representation and participation in the UBU

Our aims coincide – we’re here to obtain education that will teach us how to make the world a better place.

Empower me with your confidence – we can start from solving local problems and making our university a better place.
