Student Council acts as a forum for debate about the Union and what it should be doing for its members, the students of this University. It holds elected officers to account and passes policies relating to what these officers should be doing. It meets once a month and consists of around 40 elected officers, though anyone is welcome to come along.
All meetings start at 5pm and end by 7:30pm. Anyone is welcome to come along, but only members can vote. If you're new to Student Council and want to ask questions or find out how it works, just contact Chris Thomas, Chair of Student Council at chair-ubu@bristol.ac.uk
If Student Council has no powers over something you've suggested, that doesn't mean it's pointless, often we can campaign, lobby, or refer issues to the relevant person.
Submit, share and vote on your ideas and we’ll do our best to make them happen. All Bristol Students are able to log in and add their ideas and suggestions on ways the University can improve.
The Students’ Union will listen to your ideas, and if it can, put them into practice:
...and it’ll be discussed at Student Council
