Nightshelter

The Nightshelter project involves working with homeless people in the Julian Trust Homeless shelter, providing them with food and a warm place to sleep. Volunteers are needed to help cook, serve food, chat to guests or stay overnight and serve breakfast.

Breast Health Awareness

Our aims are to raise awareness of breast health among women of all ages and to fundraise for breast cancer. We will be visiting halls of residence every weekend running sessions about breast health to students, hopefully extending these to the public. We also have planned fun events fundraising for breast cancer and we want you to join in!

Marchant's Friends

It's an SCA dog walking project! Help out Marchant by taking his lovely dog Star for a walk.

Door to Store

Help local elderly people with their shopping on Wednesday afternoons (other days available). We take them to the supermarket, and assist with their packing. This project in run in cooperation with Dial-a-Ride

  • doortostore-sca@bristol.ac.uk
  • Daycentre

A chance for elderly people to meet up with each other and students. For many of them, who live alone, it provides a welcome change to get out of the house and meet people.
We go to lunchtime concerts at the Victoria Rooms and to local museums and occasionally out for lunch. Lots of volunteers needed to chat and laugh.

    Network

Network provides a safe social environment for the adults who have Asperger's Syndrome who can feel isolated or lacking in social skills. Volunteers need to be able to talk to the members over a drink.
Training support and help ar eprovided by the National Autistic Society.

    Saturday Club

If you 're looking for a fun way of spending a Saturday afternoon then this is the project for you! Adults with learning difficulties, and students, participate in activities for this project. Sometimes we go out on excursions, and past activities have included trips to the cinema, bowling, the zoo and the Old Vic and Longleat Safari Park.

    Splash

This project aims to offer extra help to swimming classes and hydrotherapy sessions for children with special needs. We work with various schools which take children swimming each week. The children often require one-to-one attention; therefore the schools desperately need volunteers to enable as many kids as possible to swim each time.

    Twins & More Club

Twins and More club provides parents of multiple births the opportunity to meet other parents. The children -aged from new born to 5 years- are provided with lots of toys, play activites, craft activities and song-time. Volunteers are needed to play with the children and talk to the parents.
