Community Volunteering

Want to turn derelict land into a community garden, take young people away on a weekend trip, run a social group for adults with mental health issues, get involved with a lunch group for older people or take musical entertainment to a residential home?  Whatever your interest, there’s something you can get involved with and if you can't find what you’re looking for we can help you set up something new.

Some projects require you to have a CRB (a criminal record bureau check), some don't, some organisations prefer to do there own, please check each project for details.

Student-led projects are at the heart of volunteering at UBU.  Currently we run about 40 projects, groups and events in the following categories:
