Volunteering
Escape the student bubble and get involved with one of the most rewarding things you can do while you're in Bristol - it looks great on your CV too!
While you're a student it's great to do something with your free time! There are a number of ways you can get involved whether you want to make a difference to the local community, get work experience related to your degree, improve your employability, learn new skills, meet new people, do some training or just have fun.
4 main ways we can help you volunteer:
5 easy steps to get you on your way to volunteer:
-
Sign up to join the Volunteering Mailing list at the bottom of this page!
-
To actively volunteer on any UBU Volunteering project with children or vulnerable adults, please fill out the sign up form at www.survey.bris.ac.uk/union/volunteersignup where we ask for 2 referees.
-
Many projects also require a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. This can take up to 6 weeks to come back, so check whether the activity you do would like to take part in requires this or not. For CRB information, go to the CRB page.
-
Sign up to training at bit.ly/UBUtraining. Everyone must take part in "Volunteer Induction/Child and Adult Protection training - (SCA300)". Other training sessions will be added as they are confirmed.
-
If you haven't already signed up to the project(s) you're interested in, email the project mailbox. The projects can be found on the Community Volunteering page.
