Each year hundreds of students from the University of Bristol and University of the West of England go head to head over a series of sporting events.  We aim to beat our closest rivals and have fun supporting all of our teams. 

 

Varsity Series 2012

Bristol are currently running away with the Series - we lead UWE 24 - 7.

 

VARSITY RUGBY - Monday 30 April, kick off 6pm @ Memorial Stadium

Tickets £5 in advance (from clubs or UBU's Info Point) or £6 on the door

 

VARSITY BOAT RACE - Saturday 12 May, 12.30-5pm,Bristol Harbourside (spectator area is on Prince's Wharf between the MShed Museum and The Olive Shed restaurant). 

For many, the highlight of the Varsity Series is the Boat Race between the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.  This year it will involve a series of ten races – boats race down the river, past the SS Great Britain to the finishing line by the MShed Museum.  The event aims to provide a sporting challenge for participants and an enjoyable day out for spectators.  In addition to the activity on the water there will also be live music and dance provided by our student soceities.

 

VARSITY CRICKET - Sunday 20 May, 11am, Gloucester County Cricket Club

For the first time, the Varsity Cricket matches will be held at The County Grounds, home of the Gloucester County Cricket Club, on Nevil Road.  Gates open at 9am and matches will take place at 11am and 2:30pm.  Tickets £5 in advance.

 

VARSITY ICE HOCKEY - Saturday 26th May, 5:30pm, Bristol Ice Rink
