Welcome to the Cycling Club

We are a large and friendly group of over 150 cyclists covering all disciplines of cycling including Road, Cross Country, Downhill, Track, Cyclo-Cross, BMX and Dirt Jumping. We meet for social rides twice a week on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm and Sunday mornings at 10am, as well as an addition four Performance Squad training sessions each week.

For road cycling we ride out of Bristol into the surrounding countryside, often venturing south into the Mendips or even north into Wales.  For mountain biking, we go to the local woods which offer a great selection of fast trails, challenging climbs, downhill routes and jumps. We cater for everyone, whether you're new to riding or just looking to keep fit, a seasoned roadie, a cross country racer or a hard-core downhiller.

We have had great success as a club, winning numerous awards including 'AU Club of The Year'

Achievements

The club attends all BUCS Cycling invents which include Cross-Country, Downhill, Road Race, Road Time Trail (10mile, 25 mile and 3-up), Road Hill Climb, Cyclo-Cross and Track (Velodrome). Last season, the club took gold in both the Championship race and Sport race at the Cross-Country event as well as taking individual silver in both races. This was building on a history of success in national events, with the women’s team and individual titles having being won at the Downhill in previous seasons along with many other medals.

On the road, the club has gone from strength to strength in local British Cycling races. Several members have achieved 2nd category status, while others are not far behind, finishing in top 10 positions regularly. The club peaked at number 9 in the South West area during last season. Local Time Trials have also been fruitful, with both male and female members finishing strongly, including a women’s gold.
