Raising and Giving
RAG is a once in a lifetime opportunity at university to spend your time having a laugh, meeting new people, raising money for charity and having experiences you never thought were possible.
Have a browse through the site, find something which floats your boat, and give it a go - whether you're interested in weekly street collections, running student balls, climbing Kilimanjaro, or blagging your way to Arizona, RAG has something for you.
RAG stands for "Raising and Giving". It is the charity fundraising arm of the University of Bristol Union. We are the largest (and oldest) society in the Union, and one of the cheapest to join at only £2 for lifetime membership!
Our aim is to raise money for charity in any way possible. Usually we do this through our weekly RAG Raids, RAG Procession, the BARMY pub crawl, regular student events, general japes, and the biggest and most hectic week of the year - RAG Week. We're open to suggestions for new ways to raise money, and willing to help you put on your own event - just email the RAG chair for more information.
Over the last two years we've raised an incredible £288,186.34 for charity, including £33,000 dedicated towards local Bristol charities and projects. RAG's fundraising total since its inception 84 years ago is now well over a million pounds.
We got loads of emails over the Christmas holidays, asking for an extension to the sign up deadline for the RAG Sky Dive, so we've decided to extend it for JUST 9 DAYS. The new deadline for signing up is 22nd January 2010, so make sure you don't miss out on this last chance!
BARMY, Bristol's biggest bar crawl, is back on Thurs 8th Oct! Get your t-shirts from the RAG office, from the RAG stall at FRESH, or from Woodland any lunchtime from Mon 5th Oct...
The new website is currently under construction, so please bear with us while we get it finished. Until then, you can get in contact by phone on 0117 954 5879 or by email at rag-ubu@bristol.ac.uk
