We know this isn’t the most exciting of topics but it’s really, really important. There's loads of information about Health and Safety in the Committee Handbook 2011/12 so please read it!
As a group leader you have a responsibility for the safety of your members, as well as your own. All of the policies and procedures we have in place are here to ensure you comply with your duty of care when running your activity and to protect you and the activity leaders, the activity’s members, UBU, the University and members of the public from personal injury and legal proceedings.
The three important things you need to do are:

Manage the risks – carry out risk assessments and act on them. Download a blank risk assessment form

Register your trips - see the trip registration page

Tell us when something goes wrong - accidents, incidents and near misses. Download the Accident/Incident Form - when complete please email it to clare.prosser@bristol.ac.uk
